From Sunday 14th March 2010. Karen shares that Jesus instruction to us taken from Mark Chapter 5 is to “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” Evangelism is about boasting in the Lord’s love for us, not in our love for Him. This teaching is about having peace on the way to where the Lord is taking you. How to evangelise people who have not met the Lord, and ways in which we can help those who are young in faith to grow.

Pastor’s Word

“…it is God who is at work within you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:13

So far this year it has been wonderful to watch how the Holy Spirit works within us inspiring us with new desires, strengthening us to make decisions and painting new dreams and goals on the canvas of our hearts.

Someone shared with me this week a God-given picture of a hot air balloon firing up its gas-burner in order to rise to a greater height with a bigger vision and catch the jet-stream to travel further and faster. I can see that God is doing this in my own heart and in many others in the church, as we catch His vision to reach out to the lost, launch a new small group, plan new overseas mission trips and explore new business and financial opportunities.

Our God is a big God and we are still only scratching the surface in understanding what He has already given to us through the resurrection of Jesus. The fact that God’s work of rescuing, saving, healing and providing for us has already been completely finished by Jesus, means that we can go forward into all that 2010 holds for us from a position of rest and peace.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)
