Karen Blackburn

Hi there! My name is Karen and I am co-pastor along with my husband John. John and I have been married for eleven years, we have one daughter, aged nine.

Originally from London, I grew up in a denominational church and got saved at the age of 17 because of the witness of a Christian friend of mine from another church. I have lived in Coventry for 17 years, since moving here for university.

As well as co-pastoring the church, I also educate our daughter at home, and have a hobby of making cakes for all occasions. I enjoy all sorts of music and singing, and have recently returned to having piano lessons.Hospitality is important to me and I love having dinner parties, so Christmas is a favourite time of year!

My heart is to see all those who come along to Heartbeat experience Jesus in a fresh way, realising that He is our redemption, and that God is no longer finding fault with us because all of his anger was poured out on Jesus, at the cross. Therefore we can receive all of his blessings, total acceptance and love. This is what binds us together as the family of God, knowing that we are blessed, favoured and loved. Church is one of my favourite places to be, I love the lively praise & worship, meeting friends and falling more deeply in love with Jesus through experiencing His Word.
